Exploring the Area around The Colony, Texas

The Colony is very near Plano, TX and it's the biggest event center near Frisco, Carrolton and Lewisville,  TX as well. Since we're just 22 miles from DFW Airport, the entire area, from Dallas - Fort Worth, to Lewisville to Grapevine-it's all here for you to explore. The Colony is located on the southeastern shore of Lake Lewisville just 35 minutes north of Downtown Dallas. The location of the Cascades Events Center is convenient to all of these areas.

In your downtime, consider some of the many things to do in the area. For hiking, fishing, boating, swimming or relaxing in a peaceful lake setting, visit Stewart Creek Park or Hidden Cove Park. You'll love the brand new 8 acre water park, Hawaiian Falls Adventure Park, which is right off Highway 121 on Paige Rd.

Golf is another popular activity in the area. In fact, the Dallas Morning News names the Stewart Peninsula Golf course as one of the top 10 new golf courses in the state. The Tribute at The Colony is reminiscent of the great courses of Scotland offers 18 holes including the Road Hole, with a stone wall running along the hole's right edge.

Families enjoy the Blue Sky Sports Center because of the two indoor soccer fields and three lighted outdoor fields in a park-like area. There's also a children's play area and concessions, so it's easy to take in a couple games and make a day of it.
